Day 7 – 10

I made it through the first week :)

Our whole family is trying to avoid sugar, even my teenagers (my toddler still gets his vitamin laced chocolate milk in the mornings though).  So far, so good.  We have had a few slip ups but everyone seems committed to kicking our sugar addition.  Gwen’s Nest has a great page with tips for using Stevia here:  and here is the sweetener conversion chart

Day 3 & 4

Day 3:

I made creamy quinoa again (I probably should have cooked a smaller batch of quinoa).  I also made chocolate kefir smoothies (from the old book pg 245).  The Dr recommended my toddler take a probiotic and said Kefir would be a good way for him to get a probiotic down.  So, I made a batch of Kefir with a starter and coconut milk.  It was pretty easy and he seemed to like the end result (at least the chocolate version).

Day 2

I was busy in town, basically all day.  My youngest son had a couple of appointments and I did some shopping and other errands.  I did find that my local Costco no longer carries Xylitol (probably because of the pet issue).  So,  I bought a box of Truvia.  I also picked up some quinoa, almond  and coconut flour, along with a small rug I’m sure I really needed 😉

Planning to Start Trim Healthy Mama

I have been thinking of trying this diet for a few months now.  The Trim Healthy Mama (THM) plan looks interesting to me, partially because I love meat… and partially because I love sugar.  Sugar is my nemesis, my kryptonite, the bane of my existence.  Ok, you get the idea. I have a sugar addiction and I need a program to help me off of it.
